Chicago Parks To Offer Healthy Vending Machines

The Chicago, Ill. parks will begin offering healthier snacks in its field house vending machines, 96 of which will be installed in field houses this year, according to WLS-TV in Chicago, Ill.

The first machines are being installed at Humboldt Park.

Nutritional standards for the vending machine snacks include limits on calories, sodium, fat, and sugar per serving. There will also be at least one gluten-free item and one peanut-free item per machine as well.
