Official numbers were not available, but the first day attendance at the Southeastern Vending Association convention. Aug. 3 to 5 at the Sandestin Resort in Destin, Fla. was encouraging. Association board members noted that pre-registration surpassed the final attendance of the 2010 event.
Attendees participated in a golf outing on Wednesday, followed by a dinner at the resort.
Many operators noted they were looking forward to the education program.
One of the most talked about events planned is a panel discussion on the future of vending, featuring Dennis Hogan, president of Canteen Vending Services, Tom Barlow, vice president of vending and wholesale for North America at Coca-Cola Refreshments, and Brad Ellis, president of Crane Merchandising Systems and chairman-elect of the National Automatic Merchandising Association board of directors.
