James Michael Pauley, 48, was arrested in Columbia, S.C. on July 28 and is being held in jail there pending his extradition to Virginia. Pauley is the suspect in a large number of soda vending machines in Hillsville and surrounding areas, according to WXII-TV in Winston-Salem, N.C.
