The Philadelphia Inquirer ran an editorial claiming that Wegmans’ recent decision to remove wine vending machines from its stores demonstrates the failure of the wine vending concept in Pennsylvania.

Editor's Insight: The Philadelphia Inquirer believes the wine vending machines are so offensive that the state liquor control board should be eliminated. That’s quite a strong reaction.

It's obvious the newspaper has an ax to grind with the liquor control board.

The Inquirer is not the only newspaper to react strongly against the wine kiosks. The machines are intimidating due to their size and complexity.

This does not mean that the machines don’t have a place.
