Michigan State Food Service Official Finds Great Value In Seminar On Building The Business During National Automatic Merchandising Association OneShow

Bill Kost, associate director of retail food services and culinary services at Michigan State University in East Lansing, Mich., said he got a lot out of a seminar on building your business and growth opportunities at the National Automatic Merchandising Association OneShow in Chicago. In an interview with Elliot Maras, editor of Automatic Merchandiser Magazine, said business topics need to be reviewed periodically. To list to the interview, go to: www.vendingmarketwatch.com/podcast.

Editor's Insight: This is the third recorded operator interview regarding this session, which was the best attended seminar at the recent National Automatic Merchandising Association (NAMA) OneShow. Each of the three operators interviewed brought a different business background: the first was from a large regional vending company, the second was from a coffee service/coffee roasting company, and the third and last operator runs the foodservice and concessions of a large university.

All three said they found great value in the seminar, provided by a professor who has developed a system for managing a business called "return driven strategy."

The strategy is a very comprehensive one that can apply to any size business. Congratulations once again to NAMA for organizing this seminar. 05-16-11 by Elliot Maras
