Editor's Insight: This ruling will impact vending operators, and not just in school accounts. Many locations are adapting government nutrition standards. Fortunately for vending operators, there are more products available that meet these standards.

Under the recently passed child nutrition bill, nutritional standards for foods sold in schools will have to be promulgated by Dec. 13, 2011, and will have to take effect not later than the beginning of the school year two years after the regulations are finalized.  01-14-11 Elliot Maras
