Illinois Lawmakers To Amend Retailers' Occupation Tax

The Illinois house of representatives passed a bill that would amend the language of the Retailers' Occupation Tax Act, which requires retailers to verify the total number of vending machines used in their businesses upon request of the department, according to The National Automatic Merchandising Association. It would also require the retailer to request an additional sub-certificate or sub-certificates of registration if he or she were to increase the number of vending machines used in the business. The bill now moves to the senate. For additional information, contact Kim Radulski at [email protected].
