NAMA Releases Micro Market Manual For $149

Sept. 17, 2013

NAMA announced that its new micro market operational guidelines manual is now available at a special introductory rate for members. The association has recognized micro markets as an area of growth and created this manual for all operators, whether they’re considering opening a micro market or if they already operate a dozen.

“Micro markets are an innovative and expanding channel,” said Joann DeNardis, NAMA’s director of education/certification, in a prepared statement. “As an independent association, NAMA has identified business guidelines to assist operators in achieving competitive advantage, improved productivity, and enhanced profitability. We feel confident that anyone interested in micro markets will benefit from this manual.”

The manual includes a variety of operational considerations, including market requirements, industry metrics and critical benchmarks. The seven sections of this text focus on micro market merchandising, POS technology, transaction settlement systems, auxiliary services and administrative functions within a comprehensive framework. In addition, the manual covers everything from retail software to consumer analytics to menu engineering. Also included in this extensive publication is a checklist of micro market criteria, glossary of terms and sample micro market configurations.

DeNardis said the manual, a $500 value, is available to NAMA members for a special introductory price of $149 for the remainder of 2013. A preview of the publication is available and can be ordered on NAMA’s Website.

“The data and case studies in this manual make it relevant for any operator interested in micro markets,” DeNardis said. “An incredible amount of research went into preparing this comprehensive publication.” It was authored by Dr. Michael Kasavana, NAMA’s endowed professor, and Brad Bachtelle of Bachtelle and Associates.
